another nablomopo list
I used this in previous NaBloPoMos in 2008 and 2007. I’ll carry on the tradition this year with seven more things-about-me:
Thing 1. I used to drag myself around the house when I was left home alone to see how I would manage if I couldn’t use my legs.
Thing 2. I tormented my other sister by meticulously cutting out pictures of bugs from a RAID ad in a magazine and taping them up all around her bedroom.
Thing 3. Although I have kept almost every diary, journal, and datebook that I ever had, and almost letter that I have ever received, I’m starting to believe that it is probably ok to start getting rid of that stuff because it is looking less and less likely that I will be so famous that people would want to archive it all after I’m dead.
Thing 4. I tell people things that I shouldn’t in order to make them laugh, mostly at work.
Thing 5. I know that I could drop dead at any moment and that I am ill-prepared to do so… and not just because my correspondence is not properly cataloged.
Thing 6. If I ever borrowed a book of yours and never gave it back, I am completely aware that I have done so, feel guilty about it frequently, and wonder when/how I will get it back to you.
Thing 7. I once passed out drunk in a church: it was cold out, the door was open, I went in to pee, and then I was suddenly so sleepy.

my mother’s best friend Liz and her husband Lou – but not really, they just like to think so.

the last time I had pms – Oh nO! I’m crying NOW!

yes – although I can’t always read it.
4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT?
the tuna salad with pickles
5. DO YOU HAVE KIDS ?
no – I hope my sister would know whether or not I have kids. (Shhh. I’ve secretly reproduced and hiding my brood away from the rest of the family.)
6. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU?
yes – I crack myself up… I love me… I think will start kissing me now.
7. DO YOU USE SARCASM A LOT?
not frequently, but efficiently

yes, I think so – why? do you know something I don’t?
9. WOULD YOU BUNGEE JUMP?
nope – that would be a sad day.

granola chunks

if they have ties – mostly they slide on

salty sea air, fresh bed linens, baked goods, kittens, baked kittens (NO! just kidding)

former co-worker asking for advice about somebody else’s projects
24. FAVORITE SPORTS TO WATCH?
nothing really – feelin’ a bit ‘ehh’ about sports right now
25. Hair Color?
blonde/brown/white – I expect my sister to remember this, maybe she hasn’t noticed the white ones.
26. EYE COLOR?
bluey green – ditto with the expectation of remembering; it hasn’t been that long since we visited.
27. DO YOU WEAR CONTACTS?
yes
28. FAVORITE FOOD ?
ice cream (duh), bread and cheese, fruit, pretzels, lolly’s creations
29. SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS?
both – and maybe happy movies with SCARY endings.
30. LAST MOVIE YOU WATCHED?
sita sings the blues (recommended!!!)
31. WHAT COLOR SHIRT ARE YOU WEARING?
black
32. SUMMER OR WINTER?
neither – spring or fall please.

hugs – hold me now.

purring, or maybe the sound of money falling out of the sky into buckets belonging to me – I haven’t actually experienced that yet, but I imagine that would be very nice.

A Game for NaBloPoMo without the Tag
I will take time again this November for the seven things list. Last year it was “random or weird” things and this year is “revealing” things. I think these are the same kinda things for me.
Thing 1. I get choked up every time I watch the opening of American Experience on PBS.
Thing 2. I once really thought that the exotic dancer really liked me.
Thing 3. I “accidently spilled” a beer into the lap of a guy who I thought was flirting with my girlfriend.
Thing 4. I spent so much time yelling “BOO!” and jumping out of doorways at my sister when she walked down the hall to and from her bedroom that I gave her PTSD.
Thing 5. I meant to kiss my cat on the head, but he turned around and because I had my little eyes closed I kissed his anus instead.
Thing 6. I have to cut all the labels out of all of my clothes all of the time because they might someday make me itchy.
Thing 7. I had a coworker ask me if I was “glowing” because I was in love, and I did not tell her it was because of watching Xena Warrior Princess.

Thing 1. Celebrities frequently appear in my dreams. Last night it was Diana Taurasi and the night before it was George Lopez (but he actually had the body of a tiny baby bunny so maybe that doesn’t entirely count.)
Thing 2. When I had a laparoscopic appendectomy my belly button was sewn back up smaller.
Thing 3. After I got my hair cut for the first time, I told my mother that I would no longer respond to my old name. My new name was Carol.
Thing 4. On our first date, that wasn’t actually a date until later when we decided that it had felt like a date and maybe we should go ahead and start dating, I hardly made eye-contact with Lolly at all.
Thing 5. One evening at bath time I became very distressed and started crying. I reported the following reason to my mother: “I have a hole!”
Thing 6. For a time I had convinced myself that I saw a demonic imp run down the hallway of my parent’s house.
Thing 7. I have found the MySpace pages of the children I used to babysit for and I am shocked, SHOCKED, by their use of profanity.
